Slants
Slants are taller than bevels and have an angled slanted face. Families choose to place them alone or setting up on top of a base. Slants are more visible from a distance and have more surface area to work with for a design. They typically stand 16" or 18" tall. A standard size for a single slant headstone is 24"x10", and companion slants are generally 30"x10", 36"x10" or 48"x10". You can also get creative with slant shapes and order a slanted heart design or more unique custom shape. Some local cemeteries have sections where they only allow bevels and slants. They come in any color, and you can choose to have a sertop, oval top or flat top, with polished top and sides, or to leave it rock pitched. Families also often choose slants to mount veteran bronze plaques on the back or front.
Added elements like shape carved flowers, porcelain portraits and laser etchings personalize slants with more luxurious touches. A single carved gray slant starts at $1000. Price is impacted by stone size, granite color and if you choose to add porcelain or a laser etching. Many cemeteries have their own concrete foundation pricing, which impacts cost. Contact us and we can tell you what your cemeteries guidelines.
